Keith Blair and Anthony Hash devour the competition - defeat Joe Reed and Jason Bleh in finals of "Bags & Babes III"
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better than the first "Bags & Babes", the second one trumped it in participation, cornhole excitement, and overall entertainment. "Bags & Babes II" had players that traveled over two and a half hours from Indiana, Ohio, and all over Kentucky. DJ Hollywood was steady playing some of the top music around along with Hooters Girls coming out and performing to break up the action for a little fun. The Hooters Girls put on some nice dance moves before the championship between Earl Browning / Berman McKinley from Taylorsville, KY and Jack Stagge / Sean Short from Lynchburg, OH. Once the ladies were off the court it was time for some great cornhole action in the final matchup. Jack and Sean came out of the Losers bracket to defeat Earl and Berman in a best two out of three match up. Both teams played excellent cornhole throughout the tournament. Jack and Sean forced a game three but came up short to the steady play of Earl and Berman. Throughout this match there were shots that brought the crowd watching on the Hooters patio out of their seats. One of the shots was by Jack Stagge where he was in a do or die situation to make something happen. Jack was down to his last bag and had two bags on both sides of the hole. Jack tossed a high airmail bag that landed dead center of the hole and grabbed the two other bags with it. The crowd went crazy! Joe Reed and Jason Bleh from Cincinnati, OH came in third. The Hooters patio was full, DJ Cap Tunes was playing music, and Hooters Girls were doing what they do best. You couldn't ask for a better place to have a good time playing cornhole, drinking, socializing, and having a chance to win some money. Everyone had a good time at "Bags & Babes" #1 even if you didn't have any luck out on the courts. Many teams picked up some valuable Budweiser Points, but there are plenty out there still to get in #2 and #3 which leads us up to the Grand Finale on September 20th. If you missed out on the first one, thats okay just get registered for #2 and start working on your game!
"Bags & Babes # 1" Champions

The first Hooters "Bags & Babes" tournament came down to Larry Wise and Dale Smith vs. Steve Brady and Lester Price. What a championship it was, but in the end Larry and Dale was too much and won in two straight games.
Coming in third place was Tony Ostria and Jason Scott. After making it to the winners bracket final Tony and Jason ran into some problems with Dale and Larry. Tony and Jason were later defeated by Steve and Lester in the championship of the losers bracket. Fourth Place went to Mike Payne and David Rogers. After being defeated in the first game, Dave and Mike found their game and won four straight games until they were finally defeated by Steve and Lester. The first and second place teams have guaranteed themselves a spot in the Grand Finale on September 20th, 2009. They will not be eligible to pariticipate in tournament # 2 and # 3. Overall, there were some great games with evenly matched teams. We can't wait for the next one on Sunday, August 2 at the Hooters on Dixie Highway.

Earl Browning and Berman McKinley steal the show at Hooters "Bags & Babes II" by defeating the "Ohio Boys"
What a day! The weather was gorgeous and with the temperatures in the high 70's most of the day it was a perfect day for "Bags & Babes III". This tournament featured the most teams of any of the tournaments so far and a ton of fun, as well. The Hooter Girls continue to put on a great show for all that have been coming out to the "Bags & Babes" tournaments. Budweiser continues to do a great job in keeping us stocked up on plenty of beer throughout the day. Taking first place was Anthony Hash and Keith Blair. Hash and Blair lost only one game to 21 all day and had little trouble taking care of the competition. Coming in second place was Joe Reed and Jason Bleh. Reed and Bleh also played in "Bags & Babes II" and finished in third place. Reed and Bleh won several games in the losers bracket to get a shot at Blair and Hash, but came up short for the title. Third Place went to Tony Ostria and Jason Scott. This is Ostria and Scott's second time finishing third in the series of tournaments. They also finished third in "Bags & Babes I". If you have not been out to any of the tournaments yet we still have one more left on September 20th. This tournament will be open to anyone to participate. Let's make this the biggest one yet and it will be our last tournament to raise money for Kosair Charities of the year.
